A2 motorcycle

With an A2 license, you are allowed to ride a medium-sized motorcycle with a maximum power of 35 kW. To obtain an A2 license, you must pass both a theory test and a practical driving test. The minimum age to take this license is 18 years.

Course Content

The training is divided into four steps (applies to all motorcycle licenses)

  • Step 1: Basic Traffic Course
  • Step 2: Basic Vehicle Operation and Control Skills
  • Step 3: In-Traffic Training
  • Step 4: Final Training

Good to know

It can get very cold at high speeds, so make sure to dress warmly – preferably with wool layers underneath your motorcycle gear. A neck buff is also highly recommended. If you don’t have your own motorcycle equipment, you’re welcome to borrow gear from us.

Feel free to contact us if you’re considering buying your own gear and would like advice or are unsure about what you need. We use the driving school’s motorcycles for all riding lessons.

  • A1: Minimum age 16
  • A2: Minimum age 18
  • A: Minimum age 24

Upgrade from A1 to A2

Provided you have held an A1 license for at least 2 years,to upgrade from A1 to A2 you must complete:

  • Step 3 Assessment
  • Track Safety Course
  • On-Road Safety Course for A2

If you have held an A1 license for less than 2 years and are at least 18 years old, you may still upgrade to A2 — but you will also need to take a practical driving test.
